Eating Disorders

Eating Disorder Therapy with Compassion and Care

If you are struggling with food, your body, or overwhelming thoughts about eating, you are not alone. Our practice offers a safe, non-judgmental space where you can slow down, be heard, and begin to heal your relationship with yourself.

We specialize in evidence-based, trauma-informed care for eating disorders and disordered eating, while honoring your unique story, culture, and values.

Welcome, You Are Not Alone Here

Whether you have a formal diagnosis or are simply worried that your relationship with food has taken over more of your life than you want it to, you deserve support. Reaching out for help can feel scary, especially when food and body concerns have been part of your life for a long time. Our role is to walk alongside you at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

We work collaboratively, honoring your strengths and resilience. Together, we will explore what has helped you survive so far, and gently build new ways of coping that support both emotional and physical well-being.

What to Expect from Treatment

A gentle, thoughtful beginning

Our first few sessions focus on getting to know you: your history with food and body image, your current challenges, and the hopes you have for therapy. We will talk about safety, support systems, and any medical care you are already receiving, so that we can coordinate care when needed.

You are always in control of what you share and when. There is no pressure to disclose details before you feel ready.

A plan tailored to you

Together, we will create a treatment plan that reflects your goals, values, and stage of recovery. Depending on your needs, we may integrate approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, somatic awareness, and self-compassion practices.

We also collaborate with dietitians, physicians, and psychiatrists when appropriate, to help you receive comprehensive, coordinated care.

Support between sessions

Recovery is not linear, and difficult moments can arise between appointments. We will work together to build practical tools you can use in everyday life, such as grounding strategies, coping skills for urges, and communication tools for sharing your needs with trusted people.

Healing your relationship with food and your body

Over time, therapy can help you move away from rigid rules, shame, and fear toward greater flexibility, connection, and self-acceptance. We will explore new ways of relating to your body, your emotions, and your identity, always with respect for your lived experience.

Is This Service Right for You?

Our practice supports adolescents, adults, and families impacted by eating disorders and disordered eating. You may benefit from this service if you:

  • Spend a lot of time thinking about food, weight, or your body image
  • Engage in restricting, bingeing, purging, or compulsive exercise
  • Feel anxious, ashamed, or out of control around eating
  • Avoid social situations that involve food
  • Have been told by a loved one or medical provider that they are concerned about your eating patterns
  • Are in recovery but want ongoing support to maintain changes and deepen healing

We are affirming and welcoming of all body sizes, genders, sexual orientations, cultural backgrounds, and identities. If you are unsure whether your experiences "qualify" for help, we invite you to reach out and explore that question together.

Take the Next Step

If you are ready to explore support, or simply have questions about how therapy works, we would be honored to connect with you. We offer a brief phone consultation so you can ask questions, share what you are looking for, and get a sense of whether we are a good fit.
